NOTICE TO BIDDERS The SARASOTA MANATEE AIRPORT AUTHORITY will receive sealed bids for the TERMINAL IMPROVEMENT PUBLIC AREAS ONLY CONSTRUCTION, PHASE 4 -BAGGAGE CLAIM RENOVATION at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, Sarasota, Florida, at the Dan McClure Auditori um, 1123 General Spaatz Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34243, until 11:00 am EDT, on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after stated time will not be accepted. The work may generally be described as follows: Interior renovation of the baggage claim wing of the public terminal building at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport which includes: Replacement of existing major interior finishes of the public baggage claim area with new finishes (including carpet and terrazzo flooring, suspended acoustical ceiling system, wall finishes), The project also includes the replacement of ceiling items su ch as lighting fixtures, fire alarm devices, fire sprinklers, speakers and the electrical and fire alarm system work required to support replacement of these items The project shall be organized in a manner that considers normal airport tenant operations, minimizes negative impacts on normal airport operations and requires frequent coordination with airport and tenant operations staff. The estimated project contract time will be 285 consecutive days from date of Notice-to Proceed and within the phasing outlined in the project documents. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 18, 2013, in the Dan McClure Auditorium, at the Engineering Building, Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, 1123 General Spaatz Blvd, Sarasota, Florida 34243. The pre-bid m eeting will be conducted in three parts; Project Introduction Meeting, Project Site Walkthrough & Pre-bid Summary meeting. All Bidders are required to attend the pre-bid conference and walkthrough of the work site. Bids from offerors who do not attend th e pre-bid conference proceedings in their entirety will not be accepted. Bid security in the form of a bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid made payable to the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority is required. Contract security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. No bid may be withdrawn after closing time for the receipt of bid proposals for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days. A Notice-of-Award for the Contract will be issued once a successful bidder has been determined and funding has been secured. Certain mandatory federal requirements apply to this solicitation and will be made a part of any contract awarded. The Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received and to reject any or all bids or to award or refrain from awarding the contract for the work, whichever is deemed to be in the Own er's best interests.
