NOTICE TO BIDDERS The SARASOTA MANATEE AIRPORT AUTHORITY will receive proposals for the construction of the Runway 14 Pavement Repairs & Taxiway "A5" Demolition Project at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, Sarasota, Florida, in the Dan McClure Auditorium, 1123 General Spaatz Boulevard, Sarasota, Florida until 10:00 A.M, on Friday May 9, 2014, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after stated time will not be accepted. The Work may be generally described as follows: The Project consists of the demolition of Taxiway A5, including removal of approximately 6,200 square yards of asphalt pavement and limerock base, taxiway edge lights, airfield guidance signs, electrical conduit and cable, excavation, sodding, rerouting of lighting circuit including new conduit and cable. Also included in the project is the milling and resurfacing of approximately 1,400 square yards of asphalt runway pavement. Most of the project must be done at night. Contract time will be 45 consecutive calendar days from the date of Notice-to-Proceed and within the prescribed phasing described in the Project Manual. A Mandatory Pre-bid Conference will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday April 24, 2014, in the Dan McClure Auditorium at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, 1123 General Spaatz Boulevard, Sarasota, Florida. Bid security in the form of a bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid made payable to the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority is required. Contract security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. No bid may be withdrawn after closing time for the receipt of proposals for a period of 120 days. A Notice-of-Award for the Contract will be issued once a successful bidder has been determined and funding has been secured. This project is funded under provisions of the Airport and Airway Safety and Capacity Act of 1987. Certain mandatory federal requirements apply to this solicitation and will be made a part of any contract awarded: a. Presidents Executive Order No. 11246 as amended by 29 CFR Part 30 and 41 CFR Part 60. b. Davis Bacon and Related Acts, 29 CFR Parts 1, 3 and 5. c. Copeland Act, 29 CFR Part 3. d. Contact Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. e. Title VI of Civil Rights Act of 1964. f. Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) participation will be required as described in 49 CFR Part 26, and all pertinent amendments. A DBE Goal of 8.04% has been identified for this project. g.
