REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The City of Venice invites qualifications and proposals from experienced design-build teams for services described in the Specifications and Bid Documents. Bid No.: 2978-13 Bid Title: Design-Build Services for a Shade Hangar Rehabilitation at Venice Municipal Airport, Venice, Florida PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design-build team will provide Permit/Construction Documents and the complete Construction necessary for the modifications to the existing shade hangar, known as Shade Hangar #1010 at Venice Municipal Airport. The proposed projec t will provide the services necessary to rehabilitate existing Shade Hangar #1010, and provide all of the remedial actions necessary to bring existing Shade Hangar #1010 into compliance with the current Florida Building Code 2010 and to provide resistanc e to wind speeds of 150 mph (3-second gusts). The Design-Build firm shall be responsible for technical expertise, professional services and all related activities for complete management of the project. This will include any required coordination with Airport management, permitting agencies, public utilities, and quality assurance for all work products and output. Construction progress must include schedules showing critical completion dates and organized execution of the work and methodology. The Contractor shall comply with all Municipal, County, State, Federal, and other codes which are applicable to the proposed construction work. A pre-proposal meeting will be held on January 22, 2014 at 1:30 p.m., Venice Municipal Airport, 150 Airport Avenue East, Venice FL 34285. Representatives from the City will be present to discuss the overall project and the Request for Proposal. Intereste d Firms are encouraged to attend. A site visit will be available following the meeting. All questions, comments, or concerns about this RFP must be submitted in writing to Mr. Jon Mayes, Procurement - Finance Department, for the City of Venice, Room 204, 401 West Venice Avenue, Venice, FL 34285 or e-mail at jmayes@venicegov.com. Mr. Mayes i s the only designated representative of the City authorized to respond to comments, questions, and concerns. The City will not respond to comments, questions or concerns addressed to any person other than Mr. Mayes. If the City determines that a particul ar comment, question or concern necessitates a global response to all Proposers, the City will issue a clarifying memorandum or addendum. The final day that the City will accept questions will be Thursday, January 30, 2014 by 1:00 p.m. Proposals must be submitted in five sets and at least one set must bear an original signature, in a sealed envelope marked "RFP # 2978-13: "Design-Build Services for Shade Hangar Rehabilitation at Venice Municipal Airport" and be mailed or delivered to t he City of Venice - Purchasing Department, 401 W. Venice Ave., Room # 204, Venice, FL 34285, no later than the deadline specified. In addition, a separate sealed envelope containing the Bid Price Proposal (Guaranteed Maximum Price), a guaranteed schedule , and a Bid Bond shall be submitted with the Statement of Qualifications. The City assumes no responsibility for proposals received after the proposal submittal time or at any location other than that specified, no matter what the reason. Late proposals will be held unopened and will not be considered for award. All interested Proposers shall be required to comply with Florida Statute 287.055, Design-Build requirements. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals in whole or in part, with or without cause, to waive any requirements, irregularities or technical defects therein, when it is deemed to be in the interest of the City.
